EHF / Peppol ID lookup for Norway
Look up a company
Only the number you type is sent. We show the e-invoicing provider only: no names, no contact data. Name search asks the official register directly from your browser; we never see or keep the name.
Checking many numbers? Use the bulk check (up to 100 at once). · Which number does each country use on Peppol? See the ID schemes.
Enter a Norwegian organisation number (9 digits). You can paste it as it appears on an invoice, e.g.
NO 974 760 673 MVA or 974760673. We strip spaces, "NO" and "MVA" automatically.
What the lookup shows
- Two choices above the result: What are you sending? (an invoice, a credit note or a self-billing invoice) and Whose number is this? (a customer's, or your own company's).
- A verdict for that document. For a customer's number: "Yes: it should arrive over Peppol", "Probably, but check the points below" or "No: it won't arrive over Peppol as things stand". For your own number: your company is ready to receive it over Peppol, mostly ready, or can't receive it over Peppol yet.
- The Peppol access point, with its rank in our market-share sample and a link to its profile when we have one. Being registered for Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 is the same as being able to receive an EHF invoice [1]. How the sample is drawn: methodology.
- A checklist, each point marked OK, warning, problem or note: the number is registered on Peppol, and under which ID; the access point's record answers; the chosen document is accepted, or accepted only under the company's other ID (then send it there); the access point's certificate is valid, expires within 30 days, or has expired.
- The address to use in your invoicing software, with a copy button: the exact Peppol ID to send to.
- If it can't go over Peppol: what Norwegian rules allow instead, with the official source.
- Technical details (folded): the Peppol ID, the access point, its Peppol seat ID, the access point's country, the directory host (SMP) where the registration is held, e.g. ELMA [3], the certificate's expiry date, other IDs the company is registered under, when the check ran, and every document type it accepts. Results are cached for up to 24 hours.
We show no names or contact details, and we never list a provider's customers.
Why a document may not arrive, and what to do then: Will my EHF invoice arrive?.
Why check?
From 1 January 2027, bookkeeping-liable businesses in Norway must send e-invoices to bookkeeping-liable customers. Until 2030 this applies in practice only when the customer is registered in ELMA/Peppol [2]. So the lookup answers the key question before you invoice: do I have to send EHF to this customer? Read more about the 2027 e-invoice requirement.
You can also check your own business, e.g. after switching accounting software. See check your ELMA registration.
How it works
Norwegian businesses are registered on the Peppol network with the scheme code 0192 in front of the organisation
number, i.e. 0192:974760673 [1]. We resolve that address directly in the network's central address book and in the
address register (SMP) where the business is registered, the same way an access point does before it sends an invoice.
The Peppol Directory, which many people use for searching, is a catalogue that can lag behind the registers [1].
Only the organisation number is sent to our server, and the result is cached for up to 24 hours.
If there is no result
- The business isn't registered as a recipient. Until 2030 you can then invoice in other ways [2].
- The business is registered under another number (e.g. a parent company).
- The registration is being changed, e.g. during a software switch.
The lookup shows the Peppol registration at the time of the lookup. It does not confirm that a particular invoice will be delivered.
