How we rank and label providers

E-Invoice Map is independent and its tools are free to use. It earns money from affiliate commissions, paid "Featured" listings and optional paid plans for businesses. This page explains how that money is kept apart from the order of our lists, as required for commercial communications [1] and for rankings shown to consumers [2].

Order of provider lists

  • Provider lists, comparison tables and country pages list products alphabetically by product name.
  • Filters (free plan, price, bank, capabilities) only hide rows. They never reorder them.
  • The market-share report orders providers by their measured share, highest first. Nobody can pay for a place in it.
  • No payment, commission or claimed profile changes the order of any list.

The "I am a" switch on comparison pages

  • At the top of each comparison you can say who you are: sole trader, small business, accountant or software company.
  • Products whose own data fits that choice move to the top. The others stay below; no product is hidden.
  • A product fits when Belgium's official software list gives it that segment, or when the provider's own description (its notes, plan names and what each plan includes) says so: for example "freelancer" or "self-employed" for sole traders, "SME" or "small business" for small businesses, "accountant" or "bookkeeper" for accountants, and "API", "SDK" or "webhooks" for software companies.
  • Within each group the order stays the same: what matches your needs first, then price, then name. Featured status and commissions play no part.

Comparable providers on profile pages

  • Each provider profile ends with up to 3 other providers from the same country that offer something similar.
  • We score every other product in that country by its own facts: one point for each of sending, receiving and bookkeeping that both can do, one per shared format (XRechnung, ZUGFeRD, Peppol BIS and so on), one for the same free-plan status, one when both or neither come with a bank account, and up to one for how close the lowest monthly price is (only when both are in the same currency).
  • Other editions of the same vendor's tool (a bank-branded version, a desktop and a web edition) are not shown, and each vendor appears at most once.
  • The three highest scores are shown; ties are broken by product name, A to Z. Profiles with enough facts come first. Thin profiles only fill the gaps.
  • Payment plays no part. Affiliate links, Featured listings, claimed profiles and commissions are never read. The result is the same for everyone and changes only when the facts change.
  • Where a side-by-side "X vs Y" page exists, the row links to it as well.
  • A Featured listing is a paid placement in a separate box: at the top of a country page, above a country's provider lists and comparison tables, and under a lookup result where an invoice won't or may not arrive.
  • The box is labelled as an ad ("Featured · Ad / Advertentie / Annonce / Anzeige / Annonse") and says that it is paid. Its links are marked sponsored for search engines.
  • A featured provider also keeps its normal, alphabetical place in the list below.
  • If several providers are featured in the same country, the box shows them in a fixed order: the earliest booking start date first, then by product name. Nobody can pay to move up inside the box.
  • At most 3 providers can be featured in the same country at the same time.
  • When no provider has booked the slot, the box shows our own offer to advertise there, labelled "Advertise / Adverteren / Publicité / Werbung / Annonser hos oss".
  • Some links to providers are affiliate links. We may earn a commission when you buy through them, at no extra cost to you.
  • Every affiliate link carries a visible "Ad / Advertentie / Annonce / Anzeige / Annonse" label and is marked sponsored for search engines.
  • Providers without an affiliate programme get the same facts, the same columns and the same place in the list.
  • Links to providers carry ?ref=einvoicemap so that providers can see where visitors come from. It contains no information about you.

Paid plans. Businesses can buy optional plans for customer-list monitoring, reports and an API. A plan never changes the order of a list, a fact, a lookup result or the market-share report, and the free tools stay free.

Facts and sources

  • Prices, free plans and capabilities come from the providers' own pages. Each value links to its source and shows the date we checked it.
  • Official lists (the Belgian software list, the French approved platforms, the UAE accredited service providers, the Norwegian actors list, the Slovak certified providers, Oman's accredited service providers) are copied as published, without names of people or contact details.
  • We never publish invented reviews, ratings, testimonials or customer numbers.

Corrections

Providers can claim their profile to correct facts, with a source for every change. Claiming a profile is free and does not change any ranking. Anyone else can send a correction with Report a problem, at the bottom of every page.

Every provider row and profile has a "Correct this listing" link: it opens the same form with the page and the product already filled in. Every price shows the date we last checked it and links to its source.
