Will my e-invoice arrive in the Netherlands?
Type your customer's KvK number, VAT ID or, for a public body, its OIN. Choose what you're sending (invoice or credit note) and see whether that document can be delivered over Peppol today. You can check your own number the same way.
Look up a company
Only the number you type is sent. We show the e-invoicing provider only: no names, no contact data. Name search asks the official register directly from your browser; we never see or keep the name.
Checking many numbers? Use the bulk check (up to 100 at once). · Which number does each country use on Peppol? See the ID schemes.
What the check tells you
The check asks the Peppol network the same questions your provider's access point asks before it sends:
- Registered? Whether the number is registered as a Peppol receiver, under the KvK number (scheme 0106), the VAT ID (9944) or the OIN (0190) [1].
- Does the provider's record answer? Whether the address book (SMP) holding the registration can be read [2].
- Is your document accepted? Every document type is registered separately: an invoice and a credit note are different entries, and so are SI-UBL 2.0 and Peppol BIS documents [2][4].
- Is the provider's certificate valid? Valid, expiring within 30 days, or expired [3].
You get a verdict, the exact Peppol ID to put in your invoicing software and, if the document can't go over Peppol, what Dutch rules allow instead. We show no names or contact details, and there is no reverse search.
Why an e-invoice doesn't arrive
- Wrong number. In the Netherlands the KvK number and the VAT ID are separate registrations; a business may be registered under only one of them [1]. Try the other number. Government bodies use their OIN [1].
- Two IDs, two providers. Each Peppol ID points to exactly one address book [2]. If the VAT ID is still registered with an old provider, invoices sent to it land there.
- Document type not registered. If your customer only registered SI-UBL invoices and you send a Peppol BIS credit note, it has nowhere to go: an access point must refuse a document type it doesn't serve for that receiver [3].
- Expired certificate. The sending access point checks the receiver's certificate [3]. An expired certificate stops delivery until the provider renews it.
- Not on Peppol. Between Dutch businesses e-invoicing isn't mandatory yet (planned from 1 July 2030), so many businesses can't receive over Peppol [6].
If it can't go over Peppol
- Business customer: you may send the invoice on paper or digitally, for example as a PDF; a digital invoice only needs your customer's agreement [5].
- Central government: it must be an e-invoice. Ask for the OIN and the order number, and use the government's Leveranciersportaal if your software can't send [7].
Is it your own company?
Type your own number and choose "My own company's". If something isn't green, ask your provider:
- Am I registered under my KvK number, and under my VAT ID if customers use it, and not still with an old provider?
- Are both invoices and credit notes registered, in both SI-UBL 2.0 and Peppol BIS?
- When does your access point certificate expire?
The Dutch Peppol Authority's FAQ explains how to check whether an organisation can receive [8]. More: e-invoice not received.
