Will my e-invoice arrive in France?
Type your customer's SIREN, SIRET or French VAT number and choose what you're sending (invoice, credit note or self-billing invoice). You'll see whether that document can be delivered over Peppol today. Read the next section before you act on a "no".
Look up a company
Only the number you type is sent. We show the e-invoicing provider only: no names, no contact data. Name search asks the official register directly from your browser; we never see or keep the name.
Checking many numbers? Use the bulk check (up to 100 at once). · Which number does each country use on Peppol? See the ID schemes.
In France, Peppol is only one route
Since 1 September 2026 every business in France must be able to receive e-invoices through an approved platform (plateforme agréée, PA) [1]. You send through your platform, which delivers to the receiving platform your customer designated in the administration's directory (annuaire) [1]. Peppol is optional in France [2]. So:
- Yes means the number is reachable over Peppol through that provider.
- No says little on its own: many platforms exchange invoices without Peppol. Your own platform reads the directory for you.
What the check tells you
The check asks the Peppol network the same questions an access point asks before it sends: is the number registered as a Peppol receiver, and under which ID; does the provider's record (SMP) answer; is your document type accepted; is the provider's certificate valid, expiring within 30 days, or expired. It does not query the French directory. We show no names or contact details, and there is no reverse search.
Why an e-invoice doesn't arrive
- The customer has no receiving platform yet. It then has no address in the directory and the e-invoice can't be delivered; your platform tells you it was rejected or not delivered [2].
- Wrong ID or scheme. French companies can appear on Peppol under the directory address (0225), the SIREN (0002), a SIRET (0009) or the VAT number (9957) [3]. A registration under one doesn't cover the others.
- Document type not registered. Invoice, credit note and self-billing invoice are separate document types [3], and a receiver's registration lists each one it accepts [4]. An access point must refuse a type it doesn't serve for that receiver [5].
- Expired certificate. The sending access point must verify the receiver's certificate it fetches from the address book [5]. An expired certificate stops delivery until the provider renews it.
- Refused by the customer. A customer can refuse an invoice with a reason, for example when it isn't the addressee; your platform informs you [1].
What to do next
- Check the delivery status on your own platform first: it follows the invoice's life cycle [1].
- Customer without a receiving platform? Exceptionally, the invoice may then go by email or post. This has no effect on the amount due or the payment [2]. Ask your customer to choose an approved platform.
- A plain PDF sent by email is not an e-invoice under the reform [1].
- Large and mid-size companies must issue e-invoices since 1 September 2026; small and medium businesses from 1 September 2027 [1].
Is it your own company?
Type your own SIREN and choose "my own company". The result only covers Peppol. Ask your approved platform:
- Have we signed the formal agreement, and are you designated as my receiving platform in the directory [1]?
- Are we also reachable over Peppol, under which IDs, and for which document types?
- If you use Peppol: when does your access point certificate expire?
