Belgian Peppol ID lookup

Type a Belgian enterprise number (e.g. 0308.357.159), a VAT number (BE0308357159) or a full Peppol ID (0208:0308357159). You'll see whether the company is registered on the Peppol network to receive e-invoices, and through which Peppol provider (access point).

Look up a company

What are you sending?
Whose number is this?

Only the number you type is sent. We show the e-invoicing provider only: no names, no contact data. Name search asks the official register directly from your browser; we never see or keep the name.

What the result shows

  1. Two choices above the result: What are you sending? (an invoice, a credit note or a self-billing invoice) and Whose number is this? (a customer's, or your own company's).
  2. A verdict for that document. For a customer's number: "Yes: it should arrive over Peppol", "Probably, but check the points below" or "No: it won't arrive over Peppol as things stand". For your own number: your company is ready to receive it over Peppol, mostly ready, or can't receive it over Peppol yet.
  3. The Peppol provider, with its rank in our market-share sample and a link to its profile when we have one. How the sample is drawn: methodology.
  4. A checklist, each point marked OK, warning, problem or note: the number is registered on Peppol, and under which ID; the provider's record answers; the chosen document is accepted, or accepted only under the company's other ID (then send it there); the provider's certificate is valid, expires within 30 days, or has expired; and whether the enterprise number and the VAT number go to different providers, or only one of the two is registered (then use that one).
  5. The address to use in your invoicing software, with a copy button: the exact Peppol ID to send to.
  6. If it can't go over Peppol: what the Belgian rules allow instead, with the official source.
  7. Technical details (folded): the Peppol ID, the provider, its Peppol seat ID, the provider's country, the directory host (SMP), the certificate's expiry date, other IDs the company is registered under, when the check ran, and every document type it accepts. Results are cached for up to 24 hours.

We show no names and no contact details, only technical data about the registration of the number you typed. There is no reverse search: you can't list the customers of a provider.

Why a document may not arrive, and what to do then: Will my invoice arrive?.

Do I need to ask customers for their Peppol ID?

No. The Belgian convention is that every company on Peppol is registered at least under its enterprise number (scheme 0208, from the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises). Peppol service providers are contractually required to do this [1][2]. As a supplier you can deliver to your customer's enterprise number by default. Good invoicing software looks it up for you ("Peppol first") [1].

A Peppol ID has the form scheme:number:

What you type Peppol ID we look up
BE 0308.357.159 or 0308357159 first 0208:0308357159 (enterprise number)
then 9925:be0308357159 (VAT number, optional extra ID)

Other IDs (VAT number, GLN…) can be used on top if both parties agree [1].

Nothing found?

That can mean three things:

  1. The company isn't registered (yet). Since 1 January 2026, most Belgian VAT-registered businesses must be able to receive. See who must use Peppol.
  2. The company is registered under another ID only. Try the VAT number.
  3. The company is out of scope, for example a foreign company without a Belgian fixed establishment.

How this differs from the official Peppol Lookup

The FPS Finance points to OpenPeppol's Peppol Lookup, where you can search by name or with 0208:[enterprise number] [1][3]. That tool doesn't tell you whether a company can also send over Peppol [1], and neither can ours: Peppol only registers receivers. What we add is which provider runs the registration. That helps when you want to know which software a customer uses, or when you plan to switch provider.

Our data comes straight from the Peppol network (SML and SMP) and from the Peppol Directory (OpenPeppol AISBL) [4].

Checking many numbers?

For accountants who want to check a whole client list, a bulk CSV check is planned. Until then you can look up one number at a time; anonymous users get 20 lookups a day.

Checked on 6 October 2026. "Peppol" is used here as a descriptive word only; E-Invoice Map is not affiliated with OpenPeppol.
