Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 · Error: the invoice is rejected

PEPPOL-EN16931-R020 The seller's electronic address is missing

What it means

The invoice must contain the seller's own electronic address (BT-34; in UBL the seller's EndpointID), normally the seller's Peppol ID. It is missing. XRechnung uses the same rule and also accepts an e-mail address.

Common causes

  • The seller's Peppol ID (or e-mail address, for XRechnung) is not filled in the company settings.
  • The seller is not yet registered on Peppol, so the software has no ID to fill in.
  • The export template doesn't write the seller endpoint.

How to fix it

Enter your own Peppol ID in the company settings (your access point or software provider can tell you which one you are registered with), then create the invoice again.

Who fixes it: The sender, in its own company settings; its access point provider knows the registered ID.
