Peppol BIS Billing 3.0 · Error: the invoice is rejected
PEPPOL-EN16931-R010 The buyer's electronic address is missing
What it means
The invoice must contain the buyer's electronic address (BT-49; in UBL the buyer's EndpointID), usually their Peppol ID such as 0208:0123456789 in Belgium or 0192:123456789 in Norway. It is missing. XRechnung uses the same rule; there an e-mail address is also accepted.
Common causes
- The customer record has no Peppol ID (or e-mail address, for XRechnung).
- The Peppol ID is stored, but not in the field the software exports as the endpoint.
- The invoice was created before the customer's Peppol details were added.
How to fix it
Look up the buyer's Peppol ID (for example with our Peppol lookup or the Peppol Directory), add it to the customer record, and create the invoice again.
Who fixes it: The sender, in the customer record; the buyer can tell the sender its Peppol ID.
