EN 16931 (European standard) · Error: the invoice is rejected
BR-CO-10 The line total doesn't match the sum of the invoice lines
What it means
The invoice states a total of all line amounts (BT-106). The validator adds up the net amount of every invoice line (BT-131) and the two figures differ.
Common causes
- Line amounts are rounded differently from the total, or carry more than two decimals.
- A line was added, removed or edited after the total was calculated.
- The total already includes a document-level discount or charge, which belongs elsewhere.
- Credit lines are entered as positive amounts while the total treats them as negative (or the other way round).
How to fix it
Round every line net amount to two decimals first, then set BT-106 to their exact sum. Document-level allowances and charges are not part of this figure.
Who fixes it: The sender's invoicing software calculates this total; the sender corrects the setting or data and issues a new invoice.
