EN 16931 (European standard) · Error: the invoice is rejected

BR-61 Payment by bank transfer, but no account number (IBAN)

What it means

The payment means code (BT-81) says credit transfer (code 30 or 58, SEPA). Then the invoice must give the account to pay into (payment account identifier, BT-84, usually the IBAN). It is missing.

Common causes

  • No bank account is set up in the company settings, or it is not linked to this invoice layout.
  • The IBAN is printed in the footer or a note only, not in the payment fields.
  • Credit transfer is the default payment means even for invoices paid another way.

How to fix it

Add the IBAN to the payment details, or choose the payment means that was really used (for example card or direct debit).

Who fixes it: The sender, in its bank and payment settings.
