Netherlands Peppol ID lookup

Enter a Dutch KvK number (8 digits), a VAT ID (NL + 9 digits + B + 2 digits, such as NL123456789B01) or a government body's OIN (20 digits). You can also paste a full Peppol ID such as 0106:12345678. You'll see whether the organisation can receive e-invoices over Peppol today, through which Peppol provider (access point), and the exact address to send to.

Look up a company

What are you sending?
Whose number is this?

Only the number you type is sent. We show the e-invoicing provider only: no names, no contact data. Name search asks the official register directly from your browser; we never see or keep the name.

Which number to use

The Netherlands uses three Peppol identifiers. The Dutch Peppol Authority (NPa) requires government bodies to use their OIN; other organisations choose between their KvK number and their VAT ID [1].

Number What it is Peppol scheme Who uses it
KvK number Chamber of Commerce number, 8 digits 0106 [2] Most Dutch businesses, foundations and associations
VAT ID (btw-id) NL + 9 digits + B + 2 digits [3] 9944 [2] Some businesses, often alongside the KvK number
OIN Organisation identification number, 20 digits 0190 [2] Ministries, provinces, municipalities and other public bodies [1]

Unlike Belgium, the KvK number and the VAT ID are unrelated numbers, so we can't derive one from the other. We look up exactly the number you typed. If a business isn't found under its KvK number, try its VAT ID, and the other way round: each ID is a separate registration and can even point to a different provider.

Sole traders (zzp'ers): use the btw-id, never the omzetbelastingnummer. The omzetbelastingnummer of a sole trader contains their citizen service number (BSN) and is only for contact with the Tax Administration; the btw-id doesn't contain it and is the number that goes on invoices [3].

What the lookup shows

  1. A verdict for the document you choose: whether an invoice or a credit note can be delivered over Peppol today.
  2. The Peppol provider that receives for the organisation, read from the provider's certificate.
  3. The exact Peppol ID to put in your invoicing software, with a copy button.
  4. A checklist: registered or not, whether the provider's address book (SMP) answers, which document types are accepted, and whether the provider's certificate is valid.
  5. Technical details (folded): the SMP, the certificate's expiry date and every document type registered. Results are cached for up to 24 hours.

We show no names or contact details, only technical data about the number you typed. There is no reverse search: you can't list a provider's customers.

Nothing found?

  • The organisation may be registered under its other number (KvK or VAT ID). Try both.
  • It may not be on Peppol at all. Between businesses, e-invoicing isn't mandatory in the Netherlands yet: it is planned from 1 July 2030. See who must e-invoice.
  • For a government body, ask your client for its OIN, or search the Peppol Directory: Logius has removed its old list of OINs [6].

Other official tools

The Peppol Directory can be searched by name, but it doesn't tell you whether an organisation can also send over Peppol [4]. The NPa's own test tool checks whether an organisation can receive, by KvK, OIN or VAT number [4]. Neither shows which provider handles the registration; our lookup does. Our data comes from the Peppol network (SML and SMP) and the Peppol Directory (OpenPeppol AISBL) [5].
