Free Peppol through your bank?

"Peppol gratis KBC", "Peppol ING": many business owners hope their bank will handle e-invoicing. Sometimes it can, but the terms differ a lot. The FPS Finance also points out that the cost of the obligation can be zero when it's part of, for example, your bank account [9].

ING Invoice Manager

ING has the only bank platform we found that stays free with no time limit: EUR 0 per subscription in the official price list, with a Premium version at EUR 5 [4]. You do need an ING business account, which has its own fees [3][4]. Behind the scenes ING uses Billit's Peppol access point [3].

KBC and Billit

At KBC, Billit is built into KBC Mobile and KBC Touch. The connection is free and new contracts get the first year free [1]. Conditions: a KBC business account and an activated CODA link. After the free period you pay the normal Billit price. KBC notes that without a subscription you lose sight of your outgoing invoices [1]. So plan for a paid subscription after twelve months. Prices: see Billit.

BNP Paribas Fortis

BNP Paribas Fortis has no product of its own but refers clients to Billit. Starters get one year free; then Billit's prices apply [5][6].

What to watch with a bank offer

  • "Free" is often temporary. Ask what it costs after the trial.
  • One provider at a time. Your enterprise number can only be registered with one Peppol address book at a time. If you activate the bank offer next to your accounting software, incoming invoices may land in the wrong place. Check with the Peppol ID lookup.
  • Your accountant. Ask how invoices reach them: automatically, by export or by hand.
  • Switching bank? Then you also need to move your Peppol registration. See check your Peppol registration.

Other free options
