XRechnung (Germany) · Error: the invoice is rejected
BR-DE-18 The early-payment discount (Skonto) isn't in the XRechnung format
What it means
XRechnung has a fixed machine-readable format for early-payment discounts in the payment terms (BT-20): a line like #SKONTO#TAGE=14#PROZENT=2.00#, optionally with #BASISBETRAG=…#, in capitals, without extra spaces, ending with a line break. This invoice has a discount line that doesn't follow it.
Common causes
- The discount is written as free text, for example '2 % Skonto bei Zahlung innerhalb 14 Tagen'.
- The percentage has no two decimals (PROZENT=2 instead of PROZENT=2.00), or uses a comma.
- Lowercase letters, extra spaces, or a missing # or line break at the end.
How to fix it
Write each discount term exactly in the format, one per line, and put any explanatory text on a separate line after the coded lines.
Who fixes it: The sender's invoicing software (how it writes payment terms).
