EN 16931 (European standard) · Error: the invoice is rejected

BR-25 An invoice line has no item name

What it means

Every invoice line needs the name of what is sold (item name, BT-153). At least one line on this invoice has no name, or an empty one.

Common causes

  • Products or services in the catalogue have only a description or code, no name.
  • Free-text, comment or subtotal lines are exported as real invoice lines.
  • Lines imported from a spreadsheet lost the name column.

How to fix it

Give every line a short item name. Put comments into a note instead of an empty invoice line.

Who fixes it: The sender: in the product catalogue or on the invoice in its invoicing software.
