Oman Peppol ID lookup

Enter an Omani VAT number (VATIN), such as OM1100000554. Spaces and lower case are fine. You can also paste a full Peppol ID, such as 0248:om1100000554.

What are you sending?
Whose number is this?

Only the number you type is sent. We show the e-invoicing provider only: no names, no contact data. Name search asks the official register directly from your browser; we never see or keep the name.

Which number to use

On the Peppol network, an Omani business is addressed by its VATIN, the VAT identification number issued by the Oman Tax Authority (OTA) [1].

What Format Example
VATIN OM + 10 characters OM1100000554
Peppol scheme 0248 (OM:VAT) [1]
Peppol ID in the Peppol Directory 0248: + om + the 10 characters, in lower case 0248:om1100000554

The official Peppol code list describes the VATIN as OM followed by 10 digits. Positions 3 and 4 show whether the business is resident and whether it is a group or an individual; the last 8 are generated by the OTA's tax system [1]. In the Peppol Directory we also see a few registered Omani VATINs whose last character is X [4]. Our lookup accepts both.

Every organisation registered for VAT in Oman uses its VATIN to identify itself on the network [1]. Inside the invoice, the seller's and buyer's electronic address uses the same scheme, 0248 [2].

No VATIN? A business that is not registered for VAT is not required to join the Fawtara network [3], so it usually has no Peppol ID. Invoices to such buyers can carry other identifiers, such as a commercial registration number, a tax identification number or a civil ID [2]. We cannot look those up.

What the lookup shows

  1. A verdict: whether the business can receive an invoice, a credit note or a self-billed invoice in the Omani format (PINT OM) today.
  2. The provider (access point) that receives for it, with a link to its profile in our list of accredited providers when we have one [5].
  3. The exact Peppol ID to put in your invoicing software, with a copy button.
  4. Technical details (folded): the address register (SMP), the certificate's expiry date and every document type the business accepts. Results are cached for up to 24 hours.

Where Omani registrations live

Oman uses one central address register (SMP) run by the OTA. Accredited providers must use it; they may not run their own [3]. A business connects to one provider at a time through the Fawtara portal, and can switch [3].

Good to know

  • Few Omani businesses are registered yet. In early October 2026 the Peppol Directory listed only a few dozen Omani IDs [4]: the pilot started in August 2026 and the obligation starts in April 2027. "Not registered" today is normal.
  • A buyer outside the rollout can still get your invoice the usual way. Your provider reports the tax data to the OTA in any case [3].
  • We show no names or contact details and offer no reverse search.
